Capri, Italy

For our first destination of 2026 we are heading to Capri, Italy!

Dyed up on Postcard our most loved sock yarn this 75% Superwash Merino Wool / 25% nylon blend is both soft and strong. This fingering weight yarn is a smooth 4 ply with 460 yards per 100 gram skein. I love this base for almost anything! It is strong enough for socks and yet drapey and soft enough for sweaters. With this much yardage you can make fingerless mitts, hats, or a scarf - really just about anything!

Need an additional skein to complete your project? There are skeins available for club members here:

Capri, Italy Additional Skeins.

This highly variegated colorway is inspired by the coast of Italy. Deep ocean blues contrast beautifully with warm shell-peach tones, evoking sunlit cliffs and Mediterranean waters.

I started by dyeing the skeins a pale, yellow. It's subtle but captures the golden light and adds depth to the other colors. From there I layered on deep teal and bright mediterranean blues. I let this run across the skein to add all of those delightful in between colors. Finally I add on a shell pink. A nod to citrus, sunwashed buildings, and the cliffs by the shore.  I think this is such a fun, happy start to 2026!

Because of the wet kettle dyeing, each skein is unique.  I recommend alternating skeins as you work when working larger projects as is best practice with any hand dyed yarn.  The dye placement will repeat but it won’t be as aggressive with pooling as some of our bossier colorways.
